The McLean UMC was established in 1902 and has been recognized by the Texas Historical Society as the first church organized in Gray County.

McLean UMC completed a renovation to the facility. The beautiful sanctuary, with the addition of a collection of historic stained glass windows, is truly a sacred space. The windows were originally comissioned by Colonel Charles Goodnight for the church on his ranch at Goodnight, Texas. When that church closed its doors, Col. Goodnight gave the windows to his friend Perry Lefors for the Methodist Church in Lefors, Texas where they resided for over 60 years. Due to a declining congregation, Lefors Methodist combined with St. Paul's Methodist Church in Pampa, and they decided to sell the windows to raise money for their own remodeling efforts. McLean UMC was able to buy twenty-four windows. We feel privileged to preserve the rich legacy of these windows and honored to incorporate that history with that of the McLean United Methodist Church.
